MICHAEL BOLTON’S DAUGHTERS OPEN UP ABOUT CARING FOR THEIR DAD AFTER CANCER.

Daughters of Michael Bolton Dare To Share A Personal Experience Of Caregiving After His Diagnosis With Brain Cancer, A Change Of Circumstance That Has Changed The Family Dynamic In Ways They Never Anticipated.

Approximately two years ago, Isa and Taryn found out their father had glioblastoma. However, Isa and Taryn claim their father has been beating the odds all this while because their father has now been diagnosed at the age of 72 years. However, Isa and Taryn claim that their father has remained positive about life.

His diagnosis came in December 2023, after a tumor was found which necessitated an immediate brain surgery, but the surgeons were able to remove it successfully — an experience his two daughters find both frightening and lifesaving. However, the subsequent months of radiation and chemotherapy proved a challenging regimen, which Michael was able to endure only until October 2024.

Currently, he has to go for MRI scans every two months, as a means of monitoring the potential return of the disease, which is common with this aggressive type of malignancy. These scans bring apprehension, yet also bring an opportunity to move forward.

Family life in Connecticut is a whole different story. The famous singer, who always spent his life traveling and singing, is now passing his days with those who mean the world to him. His house has turned into an oasis of strength, love, and unity.

Both Isa and Taryn have found themselves taking caregiving roles, each looking after their father in their own, equally valuable way. Whether it’s helping to manage the daily operations, medical needs, or just protecting his psych and work-related interests, they are his ultimate supporters.

They acknowledge it hasn’t been an easy role. Being a caregiver can be exhausting, both physically and emotionally, as well as a time for uncertainty. Some days are lifting and full of thanks, while others are overwhelming. However, they emphasize the need for personal care as well, as they acknowledge they need to remain strong as a means of carrying for him.

But in the midst of all this, the family has discovered hidden treasures in this slower tempo in life. Michael gets to enjoy most every meal with his two daughters and six grandchildren, whom they say they did not often enjoy before. These momentary experiences in their lives – the laughter, the conversation, the daily rituals – cost the family nothing. As they move forward, the Boltons are deciding to appreciate what they have as opposed to what they have lost. Surrounded by love and family, Michael Bolton is living through this ordeal one day at a time, and according to his daughters, that in itself is considered to be an “absolute” blessing.
