MEGHAN & HARRYSPEND THANKSGIVINGSERVING OTHERS, TEACHING THEIR KIDS ABOUT GIVING BACK.

Harry and Meghan are making a conscious decision to raise Archie and Lilibet with an emphasis on compassion, gratitude, and ultimately, joy in serving others. They believe that true kindness is learned not from words alone but through examples of living, which they conscientiously show their children what giving back truly looks like.

More recently, the family spent a poignant day at a Los Angeles community kitchen, working together to ready meals for those who consistently struggle with having too little food. Archie and Lilibet stood proudly alongside their parents on the line, rolling dough, shaping it with diminutive hands, and helping pack nourishing meals into bags to be passed along. Bit by bit, they were introduced to the idea that small efforts can make the big difference in someone else’s life.

Lessons on food and gratitude continue at home, but in a very much quieter yet similarly profound way. The children tend a small garden, where they put in seeds, water the earth, and patiently wait for them to grow. In this manner, they learn about the origins of food and the care and time needed to create it. When the garden yields its produce, the family feels great joy in sharing what they have grown with their neighbors, reinforcing the value of giving and community.

Meghan has shared that it’s important for Archie and Lilibet to understand how lucky they are and their part in giving back. She believes a good heart means being cognizant of other people and using kindness where one can.

The family is planning to celebrate Thanksgiving at home in a sweet, unpretentious, yet profound manner with close friends and family. As is the custom, they leave open one chair at their table to include anyone who might be lonely or in need of warmth. According to Meghan, one of the greatest joys of the holiday now is experiencing it through her children’s eyes-watching them learn, care, and connect with others. For the family, Thanksgiving is now less about the food but more about creating lifelong memories inspired by love, gratitude, and service.
