An ex-girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has come forward publicly, saying she can no longer stay silent after years of protecting his public image while struggling privately.
In an emotional post shared on social media, Dacoda Nichole described what she says was an eight-year relationship marked by control, fear, and repeated emotional distress. Nichole said the couple separated a few months ago, but that life since the breakup has been anything but peaceful. Instead, she says it has been filled with continued conflict and instability.
According to Nichole, she spent years shielding Rice from public scrutiny, choosing silence even when she says she was hurting. She wrote that she reached a breaking point and decided to speak out not out of anger, but out of a need to protect herself and her children.
Nichole alleges that during their relationship, Rice frequently attempted to control her actions. She claims there were incidents after their separation in which he came to her new home and damaged her door, leaving her feeling unsafe. She also shared painful memories from her pregnancy, saying she was treated harshly during a time when she was most vulnerable.
One incident she described in particular stood out: Nichole claims that after discovering Rice had been unfaithful, she was locked outside overnight in freezing weather, with temperatures around 10 degrees, leaving her frightened and exposed to dangerous conditions.
She also alleged that her personal belongings were intentionally destroyed, including shoes and clothing, leaving her without basic necessities. Nichole said these incidents were not isolated, claiming that infidelity and destructive behavior occurred repeatedly throughout their relationship.
Nichole wrote that the situation has had a profound impact on their children. She claims Rice has had limited contact with their sons and does not consistently fulfill his parental responsibilities. According to her, she has often had to repeatedly ask for support, which she says contrasts sharply with the public image many people see.
She further stated that she was left in Kansas with her children and later had to beg for financial assistance so she could drive herself and the kids to Texas, transporting all of their belongings. Nichole said that while there was an agreement made to help stabilize her situation, she claims it has not been honored.
Most recently, Nichole alleges that Rice is attempting to remove her and their children from their home, without providing a clear explanation. She says the uncertainty has added to the emotional strain she is already carrying.
“I protected his image for too long,” Nichole wrote, explaining that her priority now is protecting her peace and her children.
In response, the Kansas City Chiefs released a brief statement acknowledging they are aware of the situation. The organization said it is in communication with the NFL but declined to comment further at this time.
No legal findings have been announced, and the allegations have not been adjudicated in court. As the situation continues to unfold, Nichole says her focus remains on safety, stability, and healing — choosing to speak now after years of silence.
