The sight was so disturbing that the Good Samaritan immediately stopped and called for help on December 15, knowing that what they were seeing was not just cruel, but life-threatening.
Police responded quickly. A man identified as Avion Williamson was arrested on an existing warrant and later charged in connection with what authorities say happened to the puppy. Williamson has since pleaded not guilty, and the case is now moving through the legal system.
For the puppy, the damage was already devastating.
He was rushed to a shelter in critical condition, his tiny body bearing the weight of extreme trauma. Both of his back legs were broken, and veterinarians feared the worst — dangerous bone infections that could spread and take his life. At that moment, survival was far from guaranteed. Staff prepared for the possibility that the injuries might be too severe to overcome.
Then, help arrived.
The Oklahoma Pet Collective Society, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting vulnerable animals, stepped in when the puppy needed it most. They took custody of him and placed him into a foster home, where fear was replaced with warmth and pain with care. Along with that new beginning came a new name.
They named him Noah.
Today, Noah is no longer lying injured and alone. He is resting in a safe foster home, surrounded by people committed to his healing. His journey is far from over. Recovery will take time, patience, and continued medical care. But what has already changed is everything that matters most — Noah is now protected, loved, and no longer facing his pain by himself.
The Oklahoma Pet Collective Society has shared that they will continue to provide updates on Noah’s condition as he heals. Each small improvement is a reminder of what compassion can do when cruelty nearly takes everything away.
Now, the organization is asking the community to speak up for Noah.
Supporters are being encouraged to contact Okmulgee County District Attorney Carol Iski to urge that the charge related to Noah’s suffering remain in place and not be reduced. Advocates say this case is not just about one puppy, but about accountability — and about sending a message that cruelty toward animals will not be ignored or minimized.
Williamson is scheduled to return to Okmulgee County Court on January 22, where the legal process will continue. Until then, those who care about Noah’s future are being asked to raise their voices in the way he cannot.
