A father in Texas is living every parent’s nightmare as he frantically searches for his missing daughter, who has been missing for almost two weeks, right before Christmas. The days and nights of this family have been filled with fear and anxiety and only hope that she could be found alive.
Sydney Marquez, 24, has been missing since December 11, when she was last observed walking alone down a road in a very diverse area of southwest Houston. The community is very diverse, which her family believes could be a factor in why some people who may know information about Sydney’s disappearance are afraid to come forward due to their immigration status.
“He is extremely distraught,” Keidrais Marquez’s father, Raul Marquez, has issued a moving appeal to the community, calling for everyone with any kind of information to come forward, no matter how trivial.
“I just want my daughter to come back home safely,” Raul Marquez said.
“I think she still needs help,” he continued.
“Please, if you know something, come forward,” he concluded.
There is no doubt that Raul Marquez is very distressed, and each passing day brings more anguish to his family.

Investigators have reported that the most promising tips have been generated from a shopping complex in the Asiatown region of Houston. Residents and police have been checking neighboring businesses and examining security videos with the hopes that something may trigger clues for the disappearance. Footage taken the night she disappeared shows Sydney walking through the area with the calmest stride – not running, not acting panicked, and not distressed – adding to the puzzle.
Relatives have disclosed that Sydney was experiencing some mental health issues and was not taking her medicine. She went out to meet some of her friends, but she later sneaked away in a car belonging to another person. A short while later, the car was found with the engine on in a parking lot, but Sydney was not around. Her personal items were in the car.
Since then, this family has been living with fear and uncertainty. The minutes tick by slowly for them, but yet they continue to hold on to hope. They are hoping that someone, somewhere, had knowledge that could bring about Sydney’s safe return home. Sydney’s father and sisters plead with people not to remain silent.
