“A terrible crash on a Monday morning has left a family ripped apart and a community in mourning as they say goodbye to a young woman who was taken far too soon.”
The driver who was driving the car was identified as Celica Analy Gonzalez, who was only 29 years old. According to the report from the authorities, Celica was driving her car, a Kia Soul, moving in a southerly direction when she lost control of the vehicle. The car crashed into a light pole, turned over, and finally ended up in a ditch along the side of the road. First responders rushed the patient to a local hospital, which was in critical condition.
Despite this, the sadly fateful news reached Celica’s family on the 18th of December: she had died due to her injuries.

The loss of Celica has ripple effects in Laredo, where she is known and loved by everyone. Everyone who knew her refers to her as someone with an extremely caring heart. She is described as “the kind of young woman who always had other people in mind and in her life, before herself.” She had this exceptional ability to make others feel seen and valued.
“She was the kind of person who would give you her last dollar if you needed it,” said one relative. “It wasn’t something that she could turn on and off, her kindness. Kindness was just a part of who she was.”
When news of her death became public, tributes flowed in from friends, colleagues, and other people whose lives she had impacted in her life. In fact, many people seemed to lack the words to grapple with the fact that such a lively and caring person had left so soon.
It has been announced that there will be a memorial and funeral service held for Celica’s family in celebration of her life, which will be held on January 3, 2026, between 10:00 and 2:00 p.m. at 310 W. Hillside Rd., followed by burial. It is open to all those that knew her and loved her.
Even to the very end of her life, Celica remained a source of blessing to others. Prior to passing on, she showed who she was by donating organs to others who would have a second chance at life. Her family states that even in donating her organs, she brought some comfort to them by ensuring that she lived out her life of kindness through others.
As they go through this unthinkable loss, they have asked that the public remembers Celica and their family in their prayers. They also thank the public for the immense love and compassion they have experienced during this very difficult time. Although her life was abbreviated, Celica Analy Gonzalez will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and her love that she dispensed to all around her in such abundance. Her death leaves an emptiness that will never be filled; her memory will live in the many lives she touched, as well as those she saved.
