A family in Texas is dealing with a tragic loss. Madison Riley Hull, a bright and bubbly young woman just a semester away from college graduation, has died after being attacked by dogs that she was caring for at a home in Tyler, Texas.
Her mother, Jennifer Hubbell, shared the heartbreaking news through the fundraising page. She described Madison as the “light” of her life. Twenty-three years old was still full of life and love and freedom. She was the kind of person whose smile could brighten up any room that she entered.
Madison was pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Texas, Tyler, and graduation was only six months away for her. Her mother revealed how Madison had found her true calling in children and had spent several years teaching kindergarteners, first-grade, second-grade, and third-grade children, and the children loved her very much.
The terrible event took place when Madison was tending to the dogs at a different residence. Emergency services were called right away, and upon the officers’ arrival, they found Madison in the yard. During the rescue, a dog lunged at an officer, and he was forced to defend himself. He was able to rescue Madison, but unfortunately, she died soon after, despite the best efforts of the rescue team, with whom the officer suffered minor injuries.
Madison’s family and community are now recalling her memory for the kindess, joy, and love she shared with those in her community. She shall be greatly missed, though her light and passion for teaching kids shall never fade away.
